This weekend it was time for the big RTTY radio contest CQ WW DX RTTY Contest and this year it was a little special for me.
I had the privilege of using a state-of-the-art equipment with the Flexradio FLEX-6600 SDR radio and a Hy-Gain TH11 antenna mounted at the top of a 30 meters tower. I have a best friend named Tore (callsign SM0NCS and SC0N) and I was able to use his radio equipment for this competition (see picture showing his TH11 antenna on the top of the tower).
I participated in the Single Operator Assisted All Band Low Power (SOA ALL LP) class - I finally got a result with 735 QSOs and a raw score of 344 288 points. In the log I got a total of 68 different DXCC countries, 30 different states and regions in the US and Canada and stations located in 19 different CQ-zones.
I'm overall pleased with the result and I was active for 1945 minutes, which also corresponds to 32 hours and 25 minutes, during the contest. But on the other hand, I could have been active for another 935 minutes or for 15 hours and 35 minutes. Next year I will try to beat my own results and perhaps also be active during more hours.
Thank you for your points and multipliers this time and I hope to hear from you again soon - Best 73's Mikael (SM0LPO / SB0A)
